Where might I go?

Constantly I come up with ideas for trips, most of them disappear into the ether. I’d like to remember these trips so I can take them at some point. This blog is to capture my trip ideas. These outings may not ever come to be but at least they’re not lost.
Your comments are welcome additions to this blog.

Friends and relatives started promoting Cycle Oregon as one way to pull this off ... and more. Looking into it, this sounds very much like something I’d enjoy doing.

Learn more here: http://www.cycleoregon.com/

From Prince Rupert I’d head north by ferry to Alaska then run around the State focusing on major cities and National Parks. Then I’d return by land to the province of Alberta and make my way to Vancouver by way of Jasper.

Sounds great but it’s got to be in the summer months.

The roads aren’t passable in other seasons!

Couple that with the fact that it’s warm down there in the winter and it’s a stretch of U.S. waterline that I haven’t navigated.

The result?

A desired destination!

It was a trail for mules to follow while they pulled boats along the 184 miles of canal from Washington D.C. to Cumberland, Maryland. It’s now a National Historic Park and the path is now for hikers and bikers.

Wouldn’t it be great to ride the graceful descent from Cumberland, staying at historic inns along the way, and arriving back home at the Nation’s Capitol? It would be!

That’s it. That’s all I know about New Mexico.

What about Taos? The cliff dwellings? Los Alamos? Aztec ruins? All the caves, monuments, museums? Heck, what about Santa Fe? There’s enough in this State to keep anyone busy for a couple of weeks.

I think I ought to get to know New Mexico.
